As much as I used to be happy with UPS for free next day shipping my NewEgg stuff if it came from NJ, they completely pissed me off now. I am part of that early New England snow fall that crushed trees and took out power to much of my state (CT). I lost power around 4pm on Sat the 29th. We don't lose power often, or for very long so I didn't think much of it.

Sunday night my wife and I decide that this storm looks so severe that we my be out for quite a while, so we decide to order a small generator from Amazon (local stuff sold out, and those places like Sears that may have them were closed since they had no power). Since I wanted it ASAP we choose next day shipping for an extra $4, a no brainer in this situation. With AT&T towers mostly down, I had a hard time getting a signal, but was able to track the order which said it was on the truck for delivery the next day.

Then the most complete BS happened, they never delivered it. It was eventually scanned back in to the main depot location at 6pm that night. My wife calls up and the rep tells her it's still on the truck for delivery, which is rediculous considering their tracking website says it was scanned back in to the depot. Rep tells us it's wrong and to keep waiting until 7pm when they make last delivery. Fine. We call back around 7:30pm when it still doesn't come in. After going up 2 supervisors and their BS, my wife eventually tells them to have it taken off the truck, we'll pick it up.

If it were any of the computer equipment I had ordered the last few weeks that got delayed I would have been ok with, but considering the freezing temps and their lack of service (delivery and customer) and caring, just pushed me over the edge. I'll eventually get over it, but not for a while.

Sorry for the long rant, just had to get it off my chest.

So, you're dealing with a major snow storm and you're complaining that a delivery made by truck is slow/held up? :D

You ordered something that you needed immediately online when a large chunk of the region has no power because of a huge snowstorm? LOL

On a typical heavy snow day, the fedex ground trucks I loaded would have around 15% of the packages come back because they ran out of time. Slower roads=less deliveries. You just got unlucky that your package was towards the end of the route.

Most likely the package was still on the truck, the driver scanned it as undelivered.
Not sure on ups, but the scan could have caused the system to believe it was back at the terminal.

If you really need something immediately, call ahead and have your package held. They won't even try to deliver it and you can just go pick it up yourself.

But I'll bet the roads were too bad for the OP to make the trip!
