ANOTHER UPDATE!!!! Hot co-worker... need help reeling the line in (pics still here)

I'm a college guy and I just started working in the merchandise pickup dept. of Sears and Roebucks, I've probably been there maybe three weeks now. Being in pickup, you learn all the names of all the employees fairly quick, when there is a problem with items that may be in stock, everyone comes to you asking questions, not to mention everyone signs in and out right in the area that I'm primarily in.

Of course there are those employees that you are a little bit curioius about, such as an attrative co-worker. Well... this one girl named Jen who works in the shoe department walks by me almost everyday that I work. She's smokin'...whew... good thoughts.... I asked the other guys in pickup if she had a boyfriend and the guys I asked who have been there the longest didn't think about their answer, just instantly answered "yes", almost as if they knew the question before I asked it. But these two guys are probably the stereotypical Sears pickup guys, they're big guys.... rather grunt like, not particularly smart, not particularly good looking either, just large guys, not fat, but not well built either. While I'm athletically built, about 6'3" and have been told by various females that I'm attractive or cute (not to sound over-confident, or else I wouldn't be posting here)

This morning I was working in the warehouse and Jen came in there, a rare occasion to say the least... she started talking with a friend of mine and myself all the while flirting with me... my friend was nice enough to point that out to me. Nearly everytime that I walk by her or she walks by me, she waves, or I wave to her and I'm greeted with a smile that goes nearly from ear to ear. I'm getting to know her little by little, there is only so much you can do to get to know about a person while they are signing in and out for the day, or a short conversation in the warehouse.

I'm wondering what I can to do to further this relationship that I seem to be starting with this girl... and is there really a relationship that is developing? the guys that I work with said she's taken. But I also described them for you, maybe she was being nice to them without saying "your a big galoot and I'd never consider dating a dumbass like you". If I should persue this... then how do I go about it... like I said... I only see her in the morning and in the evening when we sign in and out, and rare occasions like she comes into the warehouse. Or if by chance she's working and I just happen to go through the store to get to the connected mall or visa versa. Do I go out to her department on the floor and talk to her there? Never tried a relationship with a co-worker.. speaking of that.. it's a co-worker... I've heard some weird stuff about co-worker relationships... should I leave it alone because she's a co-worker?

Just ask her out. The guys you asked about her availability probably never asked her or has even seen her with a guy. They just presume that an attractive woman such as her would have a boyfriend. If she says no, if she say yes, you win. If you never ask you will kick yourself in the ass later or just continue to wonder.

That's the thing, supposedly my other co-workers have seen her with a guy. I guess they have parties for the workers every now and then and frequently she's been seen with a guy, I don't know if it's been the same guy or what... but I just tell you like I Hear it.

I think she's just a friendly type who says hi or waves at other friendly people. Don't take this the wrong way, but guys who think every girl who smiles at them because they are attracted to each other needs a reality check.

However, it doesn't mean you shouldn't ask her out.

Just saying you shouldn't count your condoms before the egg comes out of the overy.

A lot of people think I'm flirting with them when I'm not. I don't know, maybe I'm not presenting myself correctly or something.

i'm honored to be the first to say: PICS?? 😀

no, but seriously, if you and her get off at the same time, why not just ask if she wants to go have a cup of coffee or something after work. then take that chance to talk to her and get to know her better.

I kind of figured that she had a boyfriend, it's not to many girls that you find that are good looking that don't have a boyfriend. She is very friendly, I do have to say that. Maybe she is just being friendly, but I don't want to blow an opportunity thinking that's the reason why she's doing it, considering I'm the only one that I see her wave to or smile at whenever she comes near pickup or if I have to go out onto the floor for something.

tokamak, I've been around the forum long enough to know about pics... it does deserve an explination, it'd be one thing if I worked in an office or something and I carried around a camera for something. But it's another since I work in merchandise pickup at sears. Not to say I couldn't do it, I just think it would be a little obvious why my motive was with her. Too much dead giveaway that I like her. I like playing the games when there are games to be played.

I agree. Just ask her out, you really have nothing to lose. Maybe she is unhappy with the other guy and likes you. Or maybe she is just being friendly. But you might as well try.

If everyday you look anything like you do in that pic on your website, I'd probably mistake just about any attention you give me as flirting. Call it dimensia or whatever, but there's something that happens to the male mind when confronted with such... eyecandy 😉

stop flirting with me in every thread! arrrrrghhhhh!

j/k 😉😛

dude, just ask. what do you lose by asking? nothing. as a wise man once said (okay, maybe a wise marketing director): "just do it"

Beau6183 - online flirting with shelly21? I just visited her website and the first line I read is "I got some pictures of my kitten scanned in", good catch if you can get it man... but how did she scan that??

Well from the picture on your website I would be very surprised if at least some of the guys you know wouldn't wish that there was more to your hellos and how are you's. 😉

"How many shoes do I have to buy for you to go out with me?... Put me down for that many."

After looking at Shelly21's website: Holy Toledo!

HPkeeper. DO NOT ASK HER OUT! at least not yet. Chat her up first and find out if she's available. If she is, become her best friend (or something close to it). Just play it cool dude. Make casual conversation and move it to more personal topics. Share secrets about yourself, reinforce the bond betwixt the two of you. If she is available, hey, score. If she isn't, well still jsut be friends 🙂 Build yourself up for the moment when she and her boyfriend get into that BIG fight . . ..

On an aside, last year (october 01) I got it on with a coworker . . . she was hot and we were really physically attracted to eachother. We went on like that for about 2 months . . . then split because we were two different as people, and it was just a physical relationship. Well . . . just saying that situations like that can lead to awkward moments at work in the future 😛 But that's a whole other issue.

Just sharing experience with you 🙂

Guys, concentrate on the topic at hand!

All the guys in my department are married. So I have no worries there.

Oh yeah... dating co-workers usually end up with a sad ending. Try to be best friends could be a way to go. And then, when she breaks up with her b/f, she'll come running to you and throw herself at you. Try to picture that. Hmmmm....

My GF says the same thing. She thinks that most guys feel you are flirting with them if you talk to them.

the friend thing almost never works. stuck in the friend zone is a really hard way to go about it because you have to be really subtle, and then you have to figure out if she picked up on your messages in an even more subtle way. you'd be better off just staying friendly to her but out of the friend zone until you get actual confirmation that shes not going out with dude.
