Look man, you got some problems. No one here can solve them for you. I wouldn't be annoyed by multiple threads from you about your depression, if it weren't for the fact that I knew you were only getting worse and nothing would improve from posting here.

Get help. Real help from a real person.

Yeah? And what's your problem?

Some people just suck at school. Doesn't mean they're dumb, they just suck at school.

Remember, it's not about learning. It's about school.

If you fail high school it's not so bad. I mean, the world needs janitors and you've got to have someone to work the drive through window.

Or you could stop being a lazy ass and do your homework.

Ignore all the dumb asses that frequent the forums. Some people realize that problems like depression or ADD have physical causes and can be corrected by medication. I would suggest talking with a medical professional forget the psychologist.

I find it odd that every single person who posts in these forums about feeling bad or doing crappy in school either has ADD or is clinically depressed.

Although I think ADD has more propaganda than merit in a lot of cases, depression is very real. Simply because you don't suffer from depression doesn't mean you should react pejoratively to those who do.

There are very real physiological causes to legitimate ADD, just as there are very real physiological causes to legitimate clinical depression.

...or course, most kids who won't sit still DON'T have ADD and most people (esp teenagers) who call themselves "depressed" DON'T have neurochemically induced depression.

If you have either of these biochemical disorders, there are various methods of medication and treatment that are effective, and little else is going to do you any good. The trick is to determine whether or not your problem is biological or psycholocial and treat it accordingly.

Is there anyone in your life who's supportive (maybe a brother or sister)? Maybe they can help you with your homework. I don't mean doing the actual work, but just sit down at the dinner table with someone and help you through step by step. Maybe they just ask you the questions and your write down the answers. Anything so that you're doing the work and you're not just alone when you do it. Try not to be alone when you do your homework.

What makes you happy? Music? Art? Skateboarding? If you're really depressed when you first get home from school, try doing something that cheers you up for an hour or so before you try to do any homework. If you're already depressed, it sounds like you're just not going to be able to do the work.

Azraele had a GREAT post. I hope this helps.

It helps to think of things like this:

You've figured it out. You know the game. You're better than it. All the other grunts in this world will do their homework and research their purchases and whine to their teachers because they really feel like it'll get them somewhere in life. As for you, you're a better person than that. You've figured out that homework is just something to keep you occupied. So do it, get good grades in school like everyone else, but at the very least, come out of school knowing that you beat the system. You did your work, but you also realized that it doesn't make a difference.

You'll go to college, and it'll be the same thing - you'll do homework so that you can get a good job. Do you think future employers care whether you missed some homework along the way? No, they care that you're a hard worker. So, do your work, get your grades, and move on. It's all a game, and you're above it all.

Hope I've helped. Oh, and have some fun along the way - make some friends, and play some first person shooters. You won't regret it.

This problem is easy to solve....

1) STOP wasting your education time by excessively playing games and surfing the web.

2) START doing your homework and studying more.

It's that easy. Now, close this browser window, and get to work.

Wow! I thought I was the only one who used this mentality...seriously. Actually, I just think of it in terms of "paying your dues", by sifting through worthless information I will never use in my adult life, to taking pointless tests and doing monotonous and, for lack of better wording, incredibly STUPID assignments, I'm earning the right to go to a good college, and I'll do the same there in order to get a job that will hopefully one day make me happy.

Something I realized at the beginning of this school year. Decided to actually buckle down and do homework, actually even helped my GPA this year in High School (GPA for the year so far is about a 97 unweighted). Like idNut, i thought I used to be depressed, had ADD, and all that crap. Then it hit me, I was just a lazy SOB that didn't get out of the house to spend enough time with my friends and didn't care about school. I decided there wasn't anything wrong with me besides my attitude towards life. After 9/11 I began to realize how fortunate I am, and that I should stop throwing my life away. Because that's what you're doing idNut, throwing your life away. Realize there are plenty of more people far worse off than you'll ever be. Live NOW so you'll have a life to live later. What you do NOW will affect how you'll be later on in life, so buck up and get to work.
