Beat it second try - 17 lives remaining, 3201 gold, score 5015.

None of the tower upgrades are worth their cost - you get a lot more benefit out of building another tower for less cash.

I only researched fire, then interest upgrades, at the end I got: Interest earned: 2561g x 25% = 3201g

I used cannon towers until my first wood, then non-upgraded fire towers from then on. Save your money by only buying the towers you HAVE to have and you'll be rolling in interest in no time.

My best try yet.

18,200 gold
20,100 score

30% interest, nothing researched

I used solely cannons, except when i needed air, then i built enough air towers, and then sold them as soon as the level was past.

None of the cannons got upgraded to even level 2 until I got to 30... then i had filled the entire screen with cannons. It only allows for 4 digits, but it keeps adding, so i could tell approx score, i broke 20k score and over 18k gold.

How did you know beforehand which levels would be air or land? Guess if you beat it once and wrote it down.

if you guys have WC3 and the expansion, this is the Element TD pathway. Element TD also has a really interesting element armor system and tons of towers. You can play it solo or against 7 others.

What is WC3? Oh, Warcraft 3. That's right. So they do have a full fledged game like this?

Yeah, there are tons of Tower Defense custom maps that people play online quite a bit. The custom maps really make WC3 worth buying again.

Wow. I didn't know there was an actual TD game. What expansion is it for Warcraft 3 that I'm going to need?

You don't need an expansion (although I think you should get Frozen Throne if you do end up getting WC3). It's a custom map, so you just have to log on to Battle.net and download it.

If you read the directions, it tells you ;)

Some custom maps require Frozen Throne...and for the $15 total it costs you to get both its worth it :)

Yeah, I noticed it right after. Beat it all 3 times. First time I was just randomly trying out towers and scored around 2000. 3rd try I got ~7000. They need to make these types of games more balanced in the upgrade paths. It's way more cost effective to take the interest upgrades and build tons of base towers.

I'm sure other people have noticed this, but you can "stack" or overlap the towers both vertically and horizontally if you click in just the right spot. This allows you to cram way more towers into the prime shooting areas. I used the all-cannon and interest upgrade strategy, then just for fun I took the earth upgrade at L28 and put in a crapload of them. Even at L30, a volley of 75+ earth towers is fairly decimating. :D

Got 4900 on first try. Not much different than the last tower game except that its better in this one to use more towers than upgrade.

when the water towers hit they cause the enemy to slow down, meaning they stay in range longer. in levels 10, 20, and 30 the enemies are immune to this slowing.

Ah, I see. I hadn't used the water towers at all.
And I still can't get past level 30. Those things just march right on through. The only time I didn't make it to level 30 was when I completely forgot to guard against air units.

i think the dude changed it
Update 2007-01-09
1. Added a leader board!
2. Tower damage + rate has been adjusted to make the upgrades worth the gold and the element towers better than the standard ones.
3. Fixed some bugs including splash towers doing double damage to the creep they hit.
