They caught the VICTIM on video. They did not catch the sniper on video.

Basically, they saw him get shot. Might help with angle, but thats probably it.

That has certainly been a source of speculation. Other than Marines or Special Forces troops, though, many military personnel receive minimal weapons training, and I have known any number of civilians who were avid, skilled shooters as well. I think it remains to be seen just how skilled this sniper is anyway.

At least all the school districts have halted outside activities from taking place at schools. I know my sister had a field trip to DC cancelled because of this.

The folks I've seen come out of the military usually aren't this fvcked up. They might come home & blow their cheating wife & her boyfriend away, but to randomly select targets?

Most likely, if they catch this guy, they will do so in one of two ways: By random chance a witness will get enough of a description of the shooter or the vehicle he's using, or he will start to lose it and screw up (like the Unabomber, whose manifesto was recognized by a relative). If he's careful, this could continue for some time.

Better cover all the windows up with aluminum foil as well. Better stay not mow the grass. Better not fill the car with gas. Better stay at home in fear....

This is not a deranged serial killer. This is a skilled and more importantlypatient individual. His primary objective is not kill, but to avoid detection. I have real doubts that this indivual will slip up. If he gets caught it is likely to be by accident.

This individual is a terrorist in my book. Everyday this continues the chances of it being a middle eastern man between 18-45 goes up. Of course I could be wrong about the individual ethnicity,but his purpose is clear.

there was a former FBI profiler on the radio on the drive home who said the guy is probably an amateur.

1. 100 yards is really not too tough a shot.
2. he leaves spent cartridges behind. anyone with training/experience would never do such a thing.
3. he goes for body shots (easy) not head shots (trained shooters).

the profiler said the guy was probably trained by running around in the woods shooting paintballs... he was not impressed with his abilities at all. That said, I'm glad I don't live in that area. I'd be scared to leave the house.

Hopefully the guy doesn't blow the back of his head off before he's brought to justice.

Unfortuantely, I live only 7 miles from this incident (actually, one exit to the East on 66.) This individual has definately created a lot of fear in the local communities. The schools remain under "lock down" - children are not permitted to have outside recess. Additionally, police vehicles are present outside the schools during morning arrivals and afternoon departures. This is one sick fvck.

The area was in quite a bit of chaos this evening. Choppers were flying over hour community enroute to the shooting site.

I was attending a meeting for a large portion of the evening, but heard the reports on the "Sports Junkies" radio show.

another week or two of this, people will be edgy and everybody will be suspect. There'll be cops all over...


if he's smart, he'll kill a few more, then lay low for a year or so...then strike back.....
