Another slipstreaming question

I have a disc w/win 2k pro and SP2 slipstreamed. Can I use that disc to slipstream sp3 or do I need to use the original win2k disc?

The "official" answer I got is that you need to use original media.

The "unofficial" answer from several people has been, "screw that! that's insane! besides, I tried it and it works."
 
I like the "Official" answer myself. Less chance that there will be a DLL conlfict or something else go wrong down the road.
