Another "silly" Linux question...

Simple as it says. I'm using the 64-bit version of Ubuntu. I installed ET under the "linux32" command to emulate 32-bit as it wouldn't install under 64-bit. Now, I can find the directory - and I even have a link under my Applications menu - but when I click on it, nothing happens. Does this have something to do with permissions? I installed it as root... Thanks for any help you can provide! This Linux-business is a ah heck, but I guess I can see some intrigue in it.

Regards,

Try running the program from the terminal.

It will output messages on that terminal and it will probably tell you why it's not running, or at least give you a better idea..

Ah-hah! I had to use the "sudo" command since I installed as root :)

I still don't have sound though...

Thanks,

First reinstall it as your user or just fix the permissions on the files so that you can run it without sudo. Then try running it with the aoss wrapper since you're probably using ALSA for your sound drivers. If that doesn't work when ET starts it it prints a lot of initialization messages so scroll up to the top and look for the sound messages, they might give you a clue about why it's not working.
