I seriously doubt that the murder rate in this country is changing in any significant way. You really can't look at news reports as a good source for long term trends.

We need statistics on crime and murder rate from bad economic times... If we pull up stats of the 1970s and 1980s we can get a better understanding on the economic effect on crime.

dunno... had 3 die in Ohio the other day. Never made it into the national news.

How many have to die before it's a MASS shooting or a Rampage? Maybe we should just tally up whenever someone gets shot in any state and report the weekly numbers every Friday? Usually the only time you hear about it is if a cop or someone important dies.

Edit.. And whatever state / city has the most shootings we can just add more Prozac to the public water supply!
