Yeah they look nice. but i'm willing to bet 1080p video recording will be limited to something silly like 5-6 min per file. Is the FZ50 in this class? i assume these will go for $500-$600? i find that really hard to justify for a superzoom, thats D60/Ebay D80 territory. Granted the 1080p video is something those two sure can't offer... i'm very interested for the first reviews of these canons. They're fast too, 4fps @ full rez?
whoa edit:
The PowerShot SX10 IS offers fun, spontaneous VGA movie shooting.
so the SX10 will be a much lower price point, ~$350 maybe? that's a little dissapointing, seeing as the TZ5 and FZ28 are doing 720p video...as well as that new samsung, NV24HD?
and they rumor that the SX1 won't be sold in the US. why, i do not understand.
The price of $400 is very competitive. The swivel LCD is like on my S3IS. The zoom is more than my Nikon P80. Looks like a good little package for long distance trips where reducing hand baggage, etc., is a plus.
I will be making a two week trip to Southern Afica in January - looks like a good testing opportunity.
SX10 should be released in late October in the US. The SX1 is scheduled for late November, but not in the US. Why the difference? Dunno - that may be the main question in this thread.
Your Wolfpack did well yesterday - I watched that on TV. 🙂
