I looked around the web and also did a search on this forum but did not find a solution.
I have a IBM laptop given to me from my school which is kind of heavy, so I prefer to leave it at my department office sometimes. When I leave the IBM at office, I wanted to access the IBM from my personal laptop Acer at home by using remote desktop.
At home I have a wireless networking with Belkin router.
Here what I tried to do:
I tried to change my home routers setting (in Virtual Servers) like port forwarding 3389 and I guess I need to put the ip address of IBM (office computer). But routers setting only allows 192.168.*.* type of IP whereas IBM ip (connected by ethernet cable at office) starts with 10.*.*.*
I just got clueless at that point.
Then I put the Acer (my home laptop) at DMZ in the route setting but it did not work.
What should I do?
Do I need to change any settings on the IBM (office) computer?
Whenever I brought IBM at home, RD worked flawlessly with my ACER at home. And when I took acer at office it also worked fine with IBM.
So it seems different network that is creating the problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated. My skill level in this area is quite low. So a little bit detail would be very helpful.
Thanks
