These movies are based on a story "Who goes there?" and the second flick was much closer to it.

It's going to be tough to beat the Kurt Russel version. I'm sure the special effects will be cool and all, but that doesn't make for a scary movie. It just gets the actors off the hook so they don't have to act.

Rob Bottin's special efx in the Carpenter version was incredible and better than some of the CGI crap nowadays.
