Another recommend me a laptop thread

Hello all. I know you get these threads on the hour every hour but I was wondering if you guys could give me suggestions on a laptop. I'm a college student entering the second semester of my junior year. I will be doing a lot of programming in the next 1 1/2 years and need something portable but fast. A 17 inch screen is out of the question... I was thinking maybe a 15" or 14" screen. I think 12.1" is a little too small for me. I don't do a lot of gaming (actually none at all) but do want a good screen resolution because I can't stand it when I have a small amount of screen real-estate. My budget is $2500 or less. I'm hoping I can get something pretty good. I was thinking of getting a Sager 3790 but am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

23733XU would be my preferrence. It has a 15" SXGA+ ultra bright screen which will give you plenty of real estate and looks pretty. Also, as far as cost is concerned it's the best value out of the other laptops. The 23733VU is lighter but has a smaller screen and costs 100 more. The 23737XU is WAAAY overpriced just for a 100mhz speed bump. 5.4lbs is nothing as far as weight is concerned if you're just gonna haul it around in your backpack (think of it as a large textbook). I carry around my 7.5lb M6805 and I barely feel it anymore since I'm used to walking around with it. The 23733XU config should keep you very happy for a while. However, I would wait on the purchase and see if you can find better deals from IBM direct. You MIGHT find the same system for $100-200 cheaper.

Thanks everone for the input. Sorry for my ignorance but where on the IBM site can you look for those good deals. And on second thought, I went to class today and saw someone with a 15"-er and they look kinda big. Are there any good 12.1" or 13.3" notebooks that are any good? I just want to keep all my options open and not regret it laters.... Thanks again.

if you have the 2500 dollar option definatly go witg ibm they wont let you down. since they are basically for businnes samller laptops are their specailty. by the way i cant spell
