you do realize that movements towards freer markets have resulted in increased outsourcing, right? of course you do. i'm sure you were just using irony to subtly poke at this easily-disproven way of thinking...

OK guys lets face the facts - there are too many greedy a$$h0les in US - in politics and in corporate - there is no way anyone in this world can do anything to stop jobs going to India and China and cheap crap coming into this country from there. I mean even if they drop a bomb on US or strip Obama at their airports, there is NOTHING we can do... so why don't you all who are ranting about outsourcing just quit jabbering and go home, drink your beer and screw your spouse /jerk-off and go to bed...

That's one of the dumbest, most ridiculously wrong statements I've ever seen in print here.

It's exactly the big corporate players in your so-called "free market" that are dictating rampant out-sourcing!

DAMN, yer dumb!

I've seen lots of derision to this post but little argument.

Actually, I think it's pretty close to the truth. Minimum wage makes labor more expensive here. Common sense dictates that a company is going to look for the lowest prices it can find for the same labor. Allowing wages to change with the market might not solve the entire problem, but it's one of the underlying issues. If wage laws were repealed, I'd bet there'd be a long process of correction in which wages would hurt, but long term it'd mean more jobs in the US/less outsourcing.

That's my very basic prediction.

Edit: IT jobs, not usually being subject to minimum wage limits, probably don't apply here. i'm talking mostly about the jobs which are typically outsourced, like manufacturing and stuff.

How did you come up with those figures?

My company has an office in India, I have friends who have worked in India, but theres also info via Google http://www.payscale.com/resear...N/Country=India/Salary
Your claims stand in stark contradiction to the figures on the web page you linked, the latter showing median salaries equivalent to around 6,000-21,000 USD depending on the job.

Those maybe local salaries also. Our people make far more than that. *shrug*
Those are national median salary figures, I'm not sure who actually calculated them, but they look in line with others that I've seen, and absurdly less than you suggested. Put simply, I highly doubt you can find any respectable source to support your original claims as I bolded above.

Right. Median being the line that separates the upper half from the lower half. Math fail?

No slurpy for you.

This is unreal. America has practically sold it's IT soul to India and this is what we get. Makes me want to punch Bill Gates in the mouth because he can't send jobs over to India fast enough.

The guys who provide you tech services are "qualified ENGINEERS/COLLEGE GRADUATES" !! You guys are probably making millions of dollars of profit because of that !! And we are getting bull shit out of that deal(we are getting money, but we have to work like dogs).

Job description and company difference. It no different here in the US. As a CCNA/CCIE holder, salary ranges can be within 100% depending on location and company.

You're not going to get any free pot, Cheech. Certainly not if it's a pre-existing condition.

Forgot to mention that the salary i said was monthly
Either way 41k annually is highly impossible dude. Only people with engg degree FROM IIT's(intake of 1student from 300) or managment degrees from IAM's(intake of 2000 from 200000) might be able to command that much. And they usually dont work for outsourcing. They work for blue chip companies directly.

This is not an India/outsourcing/racism issue, this is just one of those illustrations that "celebrities" think they are more "special" than everyone else and deserve preferential treatment. When they don't get it, they get their panties in a bunch.

I don't know anything about bollywood other than the little clips I've seen of horribly crappy dancing/singing/"acting" etc , but it appears their "celebrities" over there are just as bad as the ones over here.....
