Another reason to root for the Seahawks

"...because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States,"

Good thing we voted for Bush or Cheney would have attacked us 😉

Nice article. Kind of old, though. How did you happen to come accross it?

I had heard there were blurbs from Matt Hasselbeck in Dino Rossi's (the republican candidate that lost the controversial governors race in Washington State) new book, so I ran a couple searches and came across it. I had to laugh at Bill Walton's quotes. Not because I disagree with them, but because it made so much sense as to why he was always at odds with coach John Wooden at UCLA.

I actually like the Seahawks, Shaun Alexander is a stud...

49ers are still my team though 🙂

The 49ers need to go with Cody Pickett. If he's their number 1 guy in the off-season and takes most of the snaps, he'll be a stud too. That kid threw for 4,458 yards in 1 season for the Washington Huskies, completely smashing the pac-10 record. He's also one of the quickest pocket passers aroun too. But then again, i'm biased toward my huskies.

The niners need better wide recievers and a better offensive line too.

I don't understand why they have 3 young QB's on their team. Do they keep drafting them year after year? Cody Pickett and Ken Dorsey were both highly rated college quarterbacks, so why did they go and draft Alex Smith? Are they going to draft Leinart now?

Both of them were 7th Round picks, never intended to be the starting QB...Neither one of them will make decent NFL QB's.

Dorsey has a lot of promise. They almost beat the Seahawks the one game he's started this year.

I don't know. I think Picket will be the won wanting a starting QB position. Just look at his numbers he put up in college. He's got one of the most accurate arms too, but he just needs some time in the NFL to adjust as a starter. He went in the 7th round, but when he played his senior year at Washington he was hurt a lot of the year and suffered through some dramatic coaching and staff changes which really hurt his draft opportunities. He was picked to be a 1-3 round.

Unless Seattle has a team that represents the...

...then I don't think there is any reason I'd want to rah rah for them! Boo, hiss!! I used to like them during the Dave Krieg era, but that was because they had some former Huskers on the team, too.

Sorry, just saw this alphanumeric image and thought it was a hoot. Had to use it somewhere. 🙂

Grant Wistrom? Josh Brown? They've both been huge parts of Seattles success this year.

And Dave Krieg was a joke. He fumbled so much and sent the team backwards in my opinion even though he was their QB in their successful (kinda) 1984 team. Rick Mirer was terrible too. Jon Kitna (from Central Washington University, about 50 miles from here) was supposed to be our savior and started off on fire, but quickly faded. Hasselbeck and Holmgren's team have been the opposite. They've rebuilt and even went through tough times to do it. Hasselbecks game started very shakey, but we've all watched him get better and better.

Don't worry. They have a history of breaking our hearts 🙁

Besides, it didn't surprise me. I expected the NFL to be a tad more conservative the way the NBA leans more to the liberal side. Either way, they're just athletes. I still watch hollywood movies 🙂

He has very little promise, if any. His arm is weak and he's not very accurate, and he doesn't make very good decisions. Trust me, he'll never ben anything in the NFL. I like the guy, but he isn't good. Picket isn't even an NFL QB, he went 1 for 13 against the Bears...need I say more?

The Bears have the best defense. That's not a very good team to go against your first time starting in the NFL. Take into consideration he's hardly trained as a QB this season because they've got so many. Michael Vick went 13/22 for 122 yards and 2 interceptions against the Bears and he's a pro-bowl QB. Honestly, I'm biased toward my Huskies, but Pickett is tough enough, quick enough, and accurate enough to at least have a chance to make it somewhere. But yeah, I'm biased 🙂

As for the Seahawks...they better resign Shaun Alexander if Paul Allen still has enough money in his bank account after his big check clears to Nate Mcmillan to coach the Trailblazers 🙁

Yeah but..ACC/Big 10/SEC defenses > Pac 10 defenses.

Because they don't have good offense 🙂
