Poor SF. It already stunk enough with all of the hippies, bums, and being so close to Oakland. Now this :(

You can use Bleach to disinfect drinking water? Doesn't seem like the wisest course to me, but I guess we are talking about a large scale here. 8.5 million pounds of bleach.

Also, when did we start measuring liquids in pounds? Shouldn't that be gallons or liters?

(Really though, a robot with tentacles would probably do a really good job at unclogging drains and pipes.)

I'm surprised by this. I would think that something must not be designed right as there is lots of water (sink, shower, washing machine, etc.) that would go into the same sewer. Maybe a combo of the lower water using dishwashers, washers and toilets, there is just too much shit to remove. Hmmm....

Yeah, ask any sailor about what they have to do to keep the ocean from eating their boat from the inside out.

Also, I remember this story (read the caption) from when I visited Hearst Castle.

I realize this. However there is no way there could be a water shortage with the ocean right there.

This is just proof that all these people who want to change the world end up screwing it up.

Now lets go kill some rare bugs and dry up some swamps to make room for some new office buildings!

"Bleach" is sodium hypochlorite, aka Chlorine. Chlorination is one of the most common ways to disinfect municipal water supplies.

Low flow toilets suck. When I move, I will be removing the high-flows and taking them with me to install/swap into my new place.
