after 2 months, I finally got my $100 rebate from crapular. but it is not a check, it is a frigging GIFT CARD with a visa logo. :|:|:|

I got some bills to pay, I want it them to give me a check so I can use it the way I want.

good thing is 4 more months, I will pay the ETF to end the contract and go back to tmobile.

I pay the bill with my cc, so I can get some cashback. now cingular, just ruined it.

the ETF should come to about $200, how much do you think my s710i I got for free from cingular worth? it was a 2 year contract, I signed it up with an intention to end early.

Why not change the CC you use for this bill? The Visa "giftcard" works just like a credit card except there is no authorization to deal with. You can use it just like your visa card.

Your 710 is worth more than $200 but that is $200 you could have had...now...you just got a free phone. You should unlock it and use it with t-mobile.

I find it hard to feel bad for you DaWhim. We all deal with rebate issues and you're complaining that you GOT your rebate and that it's a Visa debit card. Just be glad you got your rebate and move on. I think there are more important things to b*tch about. My two cents.

you don't get the part with cash back I can get when I pay with my CC. I used to get double points for paying cellular bill with american express.

when I go back to tmobile, hello to another new phone that will be on par with my s710i I have now. get it now? ;)

So instead of using your free money to pay for your bill, you're going to bitch about not getting cash back because you arn't using your amex for one payment?

I get double points too, how much is your cell phone bill? $50/$60? OMG 120 points gone! SOB :|

I get what your saying, its just not a very logical rant. FYI, T-mobile doesn't have the good phones. What you're not getting is that while your selling your 710 to cover the ETF, you could be selling it for profit after your contract is up. T-mobile doesn't have better coverage, doesn't have better plans, doesn't have better phones...why switch? B/c they give you cash rebates instead of visa cards?

If you're so hell bent on getting cash, go buy a money order at the post office, should be like $.90, make it out to yourself, and go deposit it in your bank account. Jebus

it's clearly stated in the rebate that you will receive a visa gift card. it's not cingulars fault you agreed to something you didn't read and understand

edit: and here's an example of one of their rebate forms pdf file it even as a picture of the Visa gift card

Why? T-mobile isn't better in any one area(plans, coverage, phones) and infact they're worse in some. Did you switch just to get a new phone?

Yes, Cingular's customer service was so bad that I can't pass up another chance to say bad things about them.
Really, they should just hire competent people... it would make them such a better company.

Really? If I had known that I would have just told DaWhim to go TPAD instead of debating with him. ;)

I did not know that Tmobile had the d500, I love that phone. My contract is up with tmobile in about 2 months and I was going to switch to something else.

I hang out in howardforums long enough to know the basic principle is YMMV. there will be time you see tmob users have signal and other carrier don't

This is true, but in NYC? I conceed that I don't live there so I don't know, but I seriously doubt the coverage is better with T-mobile.
