Another reason to avoid AOL

Every time the user loads up AOL, they get screen after screen selling junk. What do you want to bet that these whiners clicked "next" instead of "no thanks".

actually Russ what they do is allow every screen name on the account to buy stuff -charged to the master account's cc.. a fact that they didn't disclose,at least not to me. I used to have AOL only because I had kids who's friends all used it, I certainly had no clue that a 12 yr old would be allowed to buy anything he wanted using my charge card.

If these people have yet to figure out that THEY CAN TURN OFF THE ADS, they deserve all of the crap AOL can dish out.

AOL's been in trouble for "billing errors" before and certainly will again. All I know is my ISP doesn't automatically buy bedsheets using my credit card.

That used to be true but I think with the latest versions you occassionally get unsolicited offers even with all the marketing preferrences turned off.
