I just had someone ring my door bell.

As some of you know, I just got a new dog not long ago. He's afraid of his own shadow, but he DOES bark when someone comes around.

This time it was Jehovah's witness.

So he standing behind me and barking up a storm. I see who it is and say, "He's not very friendly. Thanks anyway." Without saying another word, they turn and leave! :)

Then I say to Chance. "GOOD DOG!!" ;)

Nice!

See, I don't even answer the door if it's someone I don't know. I just let my dog bark her head off at them until they go away. Especially if it's bible thumpers.

good doggie  ... but wouldn't it be even more satisfying to see the look of horror on their innocent faces as a cat lunges into their collective jugulars?

It's near Halloween, put fake blood around his mouth. ;)

Good thing to hear, though. Too bad my dog is a crybaby.

My ultra friendly male squeezed out the door the last time the they came around my house and was jumping all over them. One of the few times I was glad he is so annoying. Got rid of them pretty quick.

I'm not a "dog person" (I definitely don't hate them) but that was awesome, your dog deserves 500 rawhides.

My dog acts a similar way. Basically, only barks when some knocks at the door. Growls and barks. Other than that, he will run right up to strangers and play.

GOOD BOY!!!

And what do you think would have happened if you were to just reach down, pick up a cat, and throw it at them?

All claws all the time !

Cats rule. Reason a lot of guys don't like them is 'cuz they can't boss them around. Natural hunters and predators, and independent. You would think all guys would respect those characteristics. Many do, save for the ones who have Napoleonic complexes. I like dogs as well, but lets face it; dogs are, by and large, much more high maintenance than cats. If I want to go away overnight on a trip, I can leave some extra food and fresh water, clean litter, and my cat is good to go. A dog? That ain't happening. He'll take a dump on the rug, have separation anxiety, chew up shoes and furniture...not a pretty scene.
