Just months after being released from prison on federal gun charges, rapper TI sadly becomes a victim of Americas war on drugs. :'(

T.I. whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., 29, was arrested [yet again] with his wife on Sunset Boulevard Wednesday night after police smelled marijuana coming from a car in which the Grammy award-winning rapper was a passenger.

He was booked for possession of a controlled substance and was released after posting bail of $10,000. He is yet to be formally charged because testing is currently being conducted on a handful of "pills resembling ecstasy," a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County sheriff's department said.

T.I.'s next court appearance has been set for Friday.

The Atlanta-born rapper and actor previously has been in trouble with the law, including numerous arrests on drugs and weapons charges. He was released from a halfway house five months ago after being sentenced to a year in prison on federal weapons charges.

The co-founder of Grand Hustle Records, distributed by Warner Music Group's Atlantic Records, he currently can be seen in the heist film "Takers," that grabbed the No. 1 spot at the North American box office last weekend.

This follows previous arrests in 1998, 2003 and 2006.

Can't a man drive around L.A. stoned anymore? So what if he promised not to use drugs or get drunk as a condition of his parole?

Sounds like he's a prime candidate for "Habitual Criminal" and should be locked up for life...or just executed so we don't have to keep paying to lock the worthless fuck up.

Stop playing around - you know that three strikes only applies to poor people, not rich black rappers who only do one year in prison for posessing an unlicensed fully automatic sub-machine gun with silencer AND a prior criminal record!!!

If you or I did that neither of us would be free today, thats for sure.

OK, call it wishful thinking. Of course, IMO, ALL rappers should either be incarcerated for life or executed for their crimes against humanity. :p

Yes, because weed is such a menace to society and laws are always right.

oh brother...

The reason your tax dollars keep paying for crime-time is because the law locks people up for ridiculous reasons. Don't kid yourself, you know this Boomer.

If possession of pot was his only offense...You'd be right. BUT...

"The Atlanta-born rapper and actor previously has been in trouble with the law, including numerous arrests on drugs and weapons charges. He was released from a halfway house five months ago after being sentenced to a year in prison on federal weapons charges."

Looks to me like the guy thinks the laws just don't apply to him.

Sometimes they don't. Look at Chicago's gun laws. They fly in the face of the constitution.

Youd think he would learn how to not be pulled over by now, ie following basic traffic laws.

Youd think he would be ready to be pulled over by now. If you get pulled over enough times you are always prepared to have a nosy cop look your car over. They do it by instinct. I had a lead foot once and got stopped alot. But finally I got fed up with tickets and made it a mission not to get stopped anymore. I havent had one since.

But if you anticipate being pulled over you know you dont do stupid sh*t like smoke weed which is very distinctive and can be smelled a block away by a vetern nose, permeates the interior despite having the windows down, etc. The same goes for alcohol. You dont drive around with an open container in the car in plain site! Idiot!

What do you think is going to happen? They will smell the weed, see the bottles and find the extasy. If your car is clean and you are sober as the day is long, you dont have to worry about it. All you get is ticket for "busting and illegal U-turn".

I know what weed smells like, Im just sayin if your gonna be driving and doing bad things you better learn how to do it without being caught. First rule of hotboxing in a car is to follow the rules of the road.

Dammit TI, all the anti-drug stuff you did for the kids as community service last time you got arrested just flew out the window.

Well he's not retarded. If he get can get a plea bargain where doing community service keeps him out of jail then that's what he'll do. Smokin' spliff on the side ain't got not'in to do wit' dis.

I was just joking about the death penalty comment, but I'm not 100% sure everyone else is joking D:

Tisk tisk tisk.
He is going back to prison I think. Dude messed up, just did all that good community work and he just smoked it all away. Maybe the judge may cut him slack, but I doubt it. TI has skated by with a lot of leniecy. His luck may run out on this one.

We need more threads about black folk acting up. Then we can rename this section to ATSF.
