Well, the way I look at it, carrying a political placard is part of the American free speech birthright.

But it also makes it easy for someone like me, if they want to carry such idiotic signs, I know right away that they are idiots not capable of rational thought. It might be worth a cursory try to talk some sense into them, but long odds, that will be a waste of time.
By in large such idiots are in the tiny minority, so we just have to suffer fools gladly.

And since they clearly want attention, why let them have any when its easier to ignore them. Its simply mind over matter, if I don't mind they do not matter.

According to the article you linked there was NO racism going on at the caucus. And that girl isnt making a racist remark with the sign. Nazi is not a race (as such, they like Aryans but Aryan is the race, not nazi) and while Obama may not be the best example of an american black man there isnt anything on that sign which is racist. Hostile and stupid maybe, but not racist.
