Anyone out there know if any of the new Minivans out on the market today can be modified to carry wheelchairs? Our youngest son uses a wheelchair, so it's important that we find a minivan that can carry one..... like a bus would. Thanks in advance. :)

I am not much help other than to tell you that I have seen them. I know you can pretty much modify anything if you are willing to pay.
I saw one, cannot remember which one, with a sliding door and a lift that came down. Actually, I have seen a few like that. Instead of two bucket seats in the middle, it only had the bench seat in the back.

There aren't any that come like that straight from the factory IIRC - like MrsSkoorb said, there are companies who will do modifications like that. (I'm sure Chrysler, Ford, Honda, etc would be more than willing to give you the number of someone who does if you buy their minivan)

My wife drives, she is in a chair, and we have done three vans. The first was a Plymouth Voyager with a raised roof and lift, the second was a Plymouth Voyager with a lowered floor and ramp, and the third, which we just purchased, was a Volkswagen Eurovan which required no body modifications, but we installed a lift for her chair. There is also the option of the full-sized van, which I assume you are not interested in. Will your son eventually drive? I don't need to know the answer, but it will be something you might want to think about. Let me know if you need more information. I have a shop that I highly recommend to do the work.
