People only hate on him cuz he's good. Don't think for a second they wouldn't nut themselves if he got traded to their favorite team.

I've actually had flyers fans I know try to convince me that they would rather have Mike Richards on their team than Sidney Crosby. LOL.

he'd never play in Edmonton.... maybe Hall will turn out to be good. if the Coilers finish dead last, we get a 40% chance of drafting him..... Fowler and Seguin lookin good too. and we already have Eberle 🙂
 
I love it when people argue about who's better: Crosby or Ovechkin

I'm gonna go with "awesome" for both. Now, as a Caps fan, I will say that Ovechkin is much more fun to watch.

I mean, he has talent, I cannot ignore that. But he's a bitch. Ovechkin is cooler.
 
I would rather have ovechkin on my team. he uses his body like a 6-6 defenseman and doesn't cry like a bitch when he gets a stick or puck in his face.

I'm not gonna disagree with you there. I think it actually makes me like having him more because it just pisses everyone off 10x more when he owns them. (This was mostly directed at the flyers)

Nothing like listening to Flyers fans talk shit on him the whole game, and then get burned by him in a shootout. I can't even count them number of times he has single handedly beaten that team.

During a brawl Crosby is a such a pussy that he goes to beating on a guy that his teammate was fighting. Its not like the teammate was getting his ass beat. He was on top and the oppenent was on the bottom. Crosby comes up from behind and starts beating him head. Then he takes a few whacks at the guys nuts.

BTW, ppl only call him Cindy because he cries/whines like a girl... he introduced himself to the NHL that way and that's not a good way to make a first impression (which is mostly why it stuck)... even other players remarked about his complaining.... it was never about his talent.

It pains me to say this as a Flyers fan and Northern VA resident, but Crosby is a level above Ovechkin. Ovie can score and I'd call him the #2 player in the world. Crosby scores too, and is a decent two-way forward, plays on the PK.

If Ovechkin can develop any sort of two way game and play on the PK, he's the best in the world. To be the best, you have to play in all phases and do it well.

As it stands, if I were playing GM, starting a franchise, and could pick any player in the league to build it around, it's Crosby. No question. Even though I want Richards to flatten him every time they come to Philly, and Ovechkin to do the same in Washington.

I think you were getting trolled on that one. I'm a Flyers fan and I'd swap the two any time. Richards is definitely a guy that can handle the Philly media, goes out and plays hard every night, but he's not Crosby.

Richards is a little bit better in the defensive game and the PK, just a little bit, but on the offensive side of the puck there is no question. I think Richards might even be a better captain, but there is no more complete player in hockey than Cindy Crosby.

Hockey would totally take off if they kept it 4 on 4. Theres just not enough scoring done. The US LOVES scoring.

True, we love scoring, but basketball is too much, and soccer is just pathetic. I always thought hockey struck a good medium.

Scoring opportunities are every bit as exciting as scoring itself. I'm just recently getting into hockey, but it's exciting so far.
 
I hope everyone got to see the 3 fights so far in the first 4 mins of the Flyers-Panthers game. Nothing spectacular, but each team has an entire line in the bin right now.

Makes sense, since they couldn't fight during the Olympics. Dumb rule. Guess I'll have to watch sportscenter tonight.

i've actually been quite failtastic in my hockey watching habits lately, even before the Olympics.

the Oilers suck ass this year.... it's like watching the Leafs, but worse. then factor in that it costs another 30 bucks a month to see their games on Sportsnet through my cable co... fuck that. next year i'll pony it up. for now i'll stick to seeing Oilers on CBC and the odd TSN game... like tonight against the Hawks, I actually get to watch... so I might.
