Getting the game winning goal in overtime in the Gold medal round of the Olympic games, at "home".

What's next for this guy, finding a cure for cancer? Talk about a charmed life! He's 22!

I don't get why people hate him so much anyway. They kept mentioning how he was everyone's prime target. Guess they're just jealous.

I'm the biggest Ovechkin fan I know... but this Crosby kid has won the big ones so I guess I won't say he sucks... for today.

BTW, ppl only call him Cindy because he cries/whines like a girl... he introduced himself to the NHL that way and that's not a good way to make a first impression (which is mostly why it stuck)... even other players remarked about his complaining.... it was never about his talent.

No sour grapes here; not a Crosby fan but I give him credit and don't deny his talent.

That said, Crosby had a very poor tournament. This team was all about Drew Doughty, Jonathon Toews, Dany Heatley, and Duncan Keith.

The US, the market that matters ... still largely does not give a shit about hockey. The Sabres and Penguins played yesterday... and while Miller sat, it wasn't even broadcast nationally. Such as on VS.

Hockey fail. It will fall behind soccer soon.

Actually, as a hockey fan I've long been pessimistic about growth prospects for the sport in this country; but even I have to admit that it does seem to be growing a bit. 50 high school programs in NJ 10 years ago 150 today. Hockey attendance and TV ratings are surprisingly high.

During the Canada US game Doc Emerick said that there are now as many Americans playing hockey as Canadians.

Will it ever be as big as basketball, football, or baseball? Probably not. Do I care? Not really.

That last statement makes the most sense. I just wish the coverage was a bit more readily available. It might be growing but I feel the NHL did nothing to capitalize on the ratings the last game drew, and the US team doing well in the Olympics as a way to increase interest in the biggest market.

I hope they get a better deal programming wise in the next Olympics, doubtful with NBC in Russia. Lost potential is a lot of what I see I guess.
