saw this in my electric company cooperative newsletter....

As part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, the tax credits for energy efficiency home improvements (i.e. insulation, HE appliances & HVAC) will be available for improvements made during 2009. This tax credit applies to improvements "placed in service" between Jan 1 2009 and Dec 31, 2009. Any qualified improvements made in 2008 are not eligible (exception, geothermal heat pumps have a start date of 1/1/2008)
