Another PS question

OK, I upgraded from a
P4 2.4 @ 2.68 (all it would do )
1gig ddr
Asus P4PE
BFG 6800 GT @ ultra speeds
dvd burner
dvd player
Anted 380 true power

to A64 3200+ .90
Asus A8V deluxe
1 gig OCZ el plat rev2

the rest stayed the same

Im getting 11.43 on the 12 volt steady, is that normal? I didnt think it was, so I went to BB and bought the Anted 430 TruePower (biggest they had) and my 12v then dropped to 11.39, hmm.

I can get 300mhz extra outa the chip, but will crash in prime 95 at anything over 2300.

I can live with only 300 extra mhz outa this chip, but if a bigger yet PS would help Id give it a go.


btw I get 12.12 on my intel rig and on my sons amd he shows 12.16, this is all on the Asus monitor

What you think? And if you recomend a new PS, what would it be?

Doesnt seem to matter if I change the HT to 800, relax the timings on the mem, 2300 seems the most itll do stable, and it never goes over 104F, whats that 40 c?

11.4 is the MINIMUM to be in spec. So, yeah they're both borderline low and that won't help in OCing. The one in my sig gives 12.04 steady under OCing conditions. (Currently I'm at 215 FSB at 11 multi)

The Antec you mention is upposed to be a good unit. Anyway your mobo is not reading accurately?

As far as a recommendation, I like the Fortron 530 watt PSU. Newegg has 'em.

OK then,

Ya think a PS upgrade is warrented? I hate to blow another 120 bucks if I dont need to.

btw got it to 2394 (9x266) now.

And still changing the mem divider, voltage, cpu voltage wont make this set up run faster, ram is at 1:1 2 2 2 5 and stock voltage, only thing that got this little bit more out was dropping the multipier and upping the fsb, weird.
