i did a tad in Nikon Capture 4.1 i converted it from a NEF first of all and tweaked teh levels a tiny bit, it needed some white

I wish I had a DSLR.. :(

Just being nitpicky, but the flower is a little overexposed, and your focus is out of wack. It would be a much better picture if the focus was in the center and the edges of the flower were softer, instead of the other way around. It isn't the way you normally look at things, so it is weird on your eyes.

Further, you were in full sunlight(I assume).. Why use a higher ISO than you have to? You should always use the lowest ISO you can, while still being able to use a reasonble shutter speed and the f/stop that you want for the depth of focus you need.

It is still an OK pic overall, though.

I thought the focus was a bit off myself. I just thought it was me...:)

ISO 200 is the lowest the D70 does, you missed my poke at Canon DSLR owners :), I focused it like that on purpose hehehe, i do odd things to pics a bunch, my professors keep trying to make me do expirmential stuff,

might be a lil over exposed but it looks good on my monitor, and i like the way it looks, the way the shadows are make it seem like it was taken in the late afternoon to me, was taken at like 9 am

Yeah, I was going to say (Unless you meant to, of course). I had the thought that maybe you were just messing around, and the pic wasn't meant to be exceptional, or something.

That's the best way to learn! ;)

Focus is off. Noise a lot. Other than that it's nice. Yup, other than it's a D70 (no ISO100), it's nice :D

if you all want one like that ill do it tomorrow, and put it on manual focus so i can, the anto didnt wanna get them for me and i was in a rush, i take these on my way to and back from classes

Yep... Ideally, DOF should be from pollen to petal. Of course, sometimes you can't do it, but that's the "perfect" flower image.

The only macro shot I have handy: My Lady's Arse
Manual focus Minolta x570, handheld, Vivitar flash, Velvia.
