My mom called me this afternoon and told me our 1yr old cat got run over and has gone to kitty heaven. very sad day. :'( I'll miss ya little guy. You were a good one Pippin.

I hate losing pets.

Please watch out for pets when your driving around in residential neighborhoods.

🙁

When my cats died (both in 1 month, very sad summer), I dreamed about them for months. I still miss the little guy and girl, dysfunctional and spoiled though they were. Sometimes I would wake up from a dream and think they were still alive; heart broken again. :tear;

I still well up when I dream about my childhood cat after he died.

Did you guys let the cat out? Honestly, you shouldn't be surprised if you let a cat wander outside and it gets hit by a car.

I have cats and love cats but don't feel any remorse when I hit a cat with my car - keep them inside if you want them to live.

Sorry to sound like a jerk, but it needs to be said. If it snuck outside and got killed, then I'm deeply sorry.

My mom has almost always had cats, sometimes up to 3 or 4 at a time. She lives in an urban area with a decent # of people. She's always let them roam, and not a single one has ever been hit by a car. Same for her neighbors, cats aren't meant to be indoors they like to go outside and explore and get into shit.

Sorry to hear OP, I just picked up a stray kitten a month ago and she grew on me almost instantly. It's never easy to lose a pet 🙁

my GF is currently at the vet with her weim after he threw up on his bed and wouldnt get up for like 20 minutes, then was breathing heavy/high heart rhythm... he is pretty old... but yea.

of the kitty?

Sorry to hear that. My cat got loose yesterday morning and I was worried sick about him because he is an inside cat. Luckily he showed up last night starving!

Just about every pet I've owned has been struck by a vehicle of some sort to various ends from death to disablement to no harm. The latest loss was a cat which was attacked and dismembered by a coyote - beyond trauma. Sorry for your loss.

I try to keep our cat inside but she likes to hunt and will wait by the door for the tiniest opening and shoot out as soon as she gets a chance. With a 7 year old and a dog it's kind of hard to monitor all the doors in this house all the time.

Thankfully, we live on a cul de sac street so we don't get any through traffic. I just have to worry about coyotes.

Sorry to hear this.

Agreed, , watch out for animals in residential areas.

I got a big "thumbs up" from a guy who watched me dodge around a squrrile with a death wish yesterday.
