Suicide bomber kills self in blast on Green Line border

A suicide bomber died Saturday night near the town of Sha'ar Efraim, approximately 12 kilometers east of Netanya on the 1967 Green Line border. No-one else was killed in the explosion.
Initial reports suggest that the explosives carried by the bomber detonated before he had reached his intended destination.
Palestinian sources reported that the bomber was Islamic Jihad activist Mohammed Fars, from the Nur Shams refugee camp, close to the West Bank city of Tul Karm.
Police and Border Police officers initially searched the area of the blast, suspecting that there may have been a second bomber killed in the explosion. However, Fars' accomplice, who took him to the scene of the blast, apparently escaped.
An announcement released by the Islamic Jihad stated that Fars had been a member of the organization and that the organization planned to "continue to carry out attacks against the Zionist enemy."
