Every day, I drive to the Park n' Ride and catch a bus that rides on the HOV. It makes the commute so much nicer because traffic here in Houston is absolutely freakin' awful. Plus, I can read, take a nap, or whatever.

It's inconvienent only when some loser has just smoked before he/she gets on the bus. They smell AWFUL and can completely ruin the ride. But that happens rarely, anyway. It's usually all good.

For two years, I commuted between Redwood City / Palo Alto and San Francisco via the train and bus. BART doesn't circumnavigate the bay, so it's a cobbling together of various agencies. Saved enough to buy a car. I take BART to the airport now, rather than pay to park.
Emeryville has a bus that is free to ride. Takes me from my house to BART and all the local shopping areas for nothing out of pocket.

Where's the option for those of us who ride a bicycle whenever possible, but take the train AND the bus? :D
