Another obsolete technology discovered

I failed to get the memo concerning a once standard technology that is now obsolete. I had to stamp a document today using an old fashioned ink stamp. Not one of those new-fangled self-inking stamps but the real, old timey piece-of-carved-rubber-on-a-stick type stamps. I work in an office of about forty people. An ink pad was not to be had. None, nada. I did find an old bottle of stamp ink which I had to apply to the stamp and then blot it off before affixing the stamp to said document.

He ruled his empire with an iron fist. He had, and probably still has, masses of brainwashed followers who worshipped him like a god. Some would call him a megalomaniac - but not to his face. They had a strange sense of loyalty bred by his insular regime, hanging on to obsolete technology, whatever the cost.

The world might be different without him, but who's to say it'll be worse? Steve Jobs will be missed.

You can't change those old stamps. Think something written on it was changed rather than the technology

so the authority that passed the law requiring the stamp needs to update the law to allow for a newer technology to act as the certification device

We ran into that today. We found reference to an old bit of data in a report that would be useful. The report gave us the information we needed to find it in our archives so we looked it up. The information was there alright, stored on a backup tape.

Apparently my company has TONS of these tapes with old records on them. There is only one problem, nobody at the company knows where we can find a drive to read these tapes! We got rid of all the drives but kept the tapes.
