Sorry for such a dumb question, but I am building my first computer with an AMD CPU and I wanted to know if it requires a different type of software. I was looking at the requirements for Windows XP Home Edition and it said that it required an Intel Pentium 4 CPU. Does this mean that it won't work with an AMD 64 processor?

Thank you, and I apologize for another dumb question.

No, everyone will work as normal like any processor. You can even run Linux if you wanted to. There is however a Windows 64-bit edition in production which would take advantage of your 64 bit processor.

No. They use the same software.

yup. just like ford & GM uses the same gas. ;)

Damn, and all these years I've been paying extra for Chevy gas:eek:

Chevy is a part of GM IIRC ;):p

But yeah, AMD CPUs are just as compatible as intels.
