b. will start up i press tab to see post it goes to 2 out of my 4 gigs (ram checking) then restarts
c. Gives me a checksum error where it tells me to place a disk in my A drive. the problem i dont have an a drive ;(

what cooler are you using?

although temprature might not be a problem on cold boot, you wont get too far with a Q6600 without serious cooling.

I that cooler should be good for upto 3ghz what you might want to do is to run your mem at 1:1 with the system clock or if it is by qdr fsb run 2:1(fsb:mem). also if you oc the mem try to up the volt. If this doesn't work try looking for the new bios for your mobo.

Test each stick by itself in memtest...set the voltage each time to 2.1v and timings 4-4-4-12 with no overclock on them (DDR2-800 speed). Make sure they pass each test by themselves.

Then after they pass, up your Northbridge voltage (MCH) a notch and set your fsb to 333Mhz and your CPU multiplyer at 9x. Then set your memory ratio to 1:1.20 (will give you DDR2-800). Then set your voltage on the CPU to 1.35v and turn off everything under CPU features. Make sure you have C1E, EIST, Virtulization etc all off. 1.35 is about stock voltage when speedstep is running your cpu at full speed so it's perfectly safe.

See how that works.
