Yup, check it out. Compose a message, and as you type, Google will save your email automatically incase you close your window, crash, etc.

Nice, but my web browsers rarely crash since I no longer use Win9x in any form or fashion. Rumors are that Google is silently building a Microsoft Office competitor and this is a very small step in that direction.
