Thanks for the welcome, bfour. I've been lurking around the forums for a week or two and finally decided to join. I guess you'd like a small intro, huh?

The first DC project I ran was distributed.net a few years ago. I ran that on and off on a few of my boxen for about two years. Then I heard about United Devices and have logged over one CPU year there, but have since stopped running the client. Recently I've taken interest in DC projects again and currently have one AMD box running Find-a-Drug 24/7. I've also messed around with the NEO Project a bit on yet another box. I've tried SETI in the past, but don't have any spare boxes to run it on.

Now I just joined the team and installed the DF text client on an AMD Athlon XP 1900+ box with 512 MB of RAM (using the -rt switch :D). I wish I could run DF on my Dell notebook, but it runs about 50 - 60 C idle, even with a laptop cooling pad and the proc set to "battery" mode. :(

Welcome to the team, Builderz!

One useful tool for DF is DFGui:

It a small program you can use to hide the DOS window, and it gives you some useful statistics. Your Athlon XP will put out some nice numbers.

Thanks everyone. :)

kmmatney, I messed around with DFGui and it appears I've gotten a slight speed boost tweaking some of the settings. Thanks for the tip!
