ANOTHER Maxtor drive has died on me...

Ah crap, it was my other maxtor that failed. It wasn't my referb drive, it was the one with the windows partition on it. DAMNIT!

Do you have any type of active cooling blowing over the drive? Hard drives get extremely hot, I mean almost to the point where you can't even hold it without being somewhat burned. I highly recommend getting a fan to blow directly over your hard drives. I do and it's kept my Maxtor and my Raptor nice and cool for quite some time.

Yep, I have a fan blowing air over all of the drives.
 
Add me to the Maxtor woes. Two drives in two years died. I have one replacement now that won't hold one partition. Diagonostics say the drive is just fine, but one partition keeps disappearing. Weird.
