Horrible, but I think work place shooting sprees are only going to increase in frequency now that republicans have decided gun rights override property owner's rights.

Employers don't want weapons brought to work, or even left in employee cars? Well too bad. Can't expect some people to go to work unarmed, and people getting murdered at work is a mental health issue, duh.
Apparently the killer did not work there. 19yo and no known motive at this point. It's notable that the facility has quite a few Sikh employees and several victims were Sikhs.
Seems odd that these have happened more under Biden
So you're saying if we elect Democrats, Americans will respond with violence? Thanks for confirming you are a terrorist sympathizer.

Only days ago it was either on Maddow or Lawrence who ran a collage of republicans in congress and the head of the NRA repeating that worn out phrase THE ONLY WAY TO STOP A BAD GUY WITH A GUN IS A GOOD GUY WITH A GUN. Well.... we now have nearly every American from the age of three thru 99 owning a gun. Across most all of America every citizen can now openly carry a gun. Nearly every American can now carry a concealed gun. So... with every living breathing American now having and carrying a gun, what’s the problem America? Where are those good guys with a gun when we encounter a bad guy with a gun? Republicans, NRA, what’s going on with your solution? We really want to know. You make it sound so simple, the answer so simple, yet I’m not seeing those good guys with the guns gunning down those bad guys with the guns. I’m not seeing that.

A FiBI Flub?

"Paul Keenan, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Indianapolis field office, said Friday that agents questioned Hole last year after his mother called police to say that her son might commit “suicide by cop.” He said the FBI was called after items were found in Hole’s bedroom but he did not elaborate on what they were. He said agents found no evidence of a crime and that they did not identify Hole as espousing a racially motivated ideology."

Don't worry, Rep. Boebert has this problem all solved for us:

On Friday, the Colorado congresswoman continued her streak of looking ridiculous on the social media platform by offering a different take from the usual “thoughts and prayers” after Thursday’s mass shooting in Indianapolis: “Mass shootings are illegal.”

Bunch of cowardly fucks!
People don't respond to things like this because you offer no substance. All you do is call people names.

Out of all the responses. There was only one person who gave a serious reply.

Not odd at all. What's happening is Trump had created this aura of racism, hate and fear in the nation and then he posed himself as the answer and cure for that nightmare whereby his supporters felt safe and secure while he was in office. Now that he's not there anymore to keep his followers safe from all of those boogiemen he and his party elders created out of thin air, his followers, left in a state of racist hate and fear with no one to look up to for protection and guidance have created a state of panic and chaos within that alternate world they've been living in for the past four years.

These mass shootings are in part a result of their feeling a sense of impeding doom now that their leader's election was "stolen" from him. Their fake world is falling apart before their eyes giving them nowhere to go except to face a reality they've chosen to ignore for so long: That all Trump did for them was to give them a false sense of security by giving them a fairy tale world to live in with no exit plan, no Plan B to fall back on.

Please give it a try to change my mind.
Thank you for your response. It's nice to see a serious response and yes, I can totally see what you are saying. I assume that does have a lot to do with the issue. *Cheers*

I have no comment on this topic. I have said in the past I avoid political discussions. I just wanted to point out some of the most outrageous comments on this forum come not from members but the moderators. It's the only forum on the web where mods often write offensive or insensitive comments. I am not saying that is good or bad just something unique on this forum.

You should have quit while you were ahead with "I have no comment on this topic." If you have issues with moderator actions, there is one place to discuss it - Moderator Discussions. I'm sure you are aware of this since it is in the AnandTech Forum Guidelines.

Somebody didn't get their $1400, apparently?
Guns Guns Guns...
Guns are the answer to everything. Right America?
The boss on your case? Guns Guns Guns.
Wife pissing you off? Guns Guns Guns.
Neighbor walked on your grass? Guns Guns Guns.
In-laws causing you trouble? Guns Guns Guns.
Unhappy with your fast food hamburger? Guns Guns Guns.
Don't like the masks? Guns Guns Guns.
Unhappy with that Cracker-Jacks surprise? Guns Guns Guns.
Feeling kinda oozy today? Guns Guns Guns.
Lets give even more people access to a gun, the kids, the deranged, the paranoid, the child molesters, the disgruntled employee, lets give everyone their gun because.... American's have a lot of score settling to do.
Hand me that gun, dear...

Searching for verification, but he may have been 'known to police' as a threat and 'reported by his family'. So far the only places I see that are tabloid sites like the Sun and the NY Post.
I have to wonder why this guy known as a threat of "death by cop" had access to a gun. His mom reported to authorities a year ago that she feared this would be her son's fate. They seem to have whiffed on it.

America has whiffed on its obligations to its citizenry. Universal healthcare? Uh uh. Protecting its people from domestic terrorism? Nope. Having a 1/2 way reasonable distribution of wealth? No sir, no ma'am.

Mass shootings have shit all to do with who is President. In fact there seems to be a run on guns and ammo when a Democrat is elected because all the gun nuts work themselves up about how "the guvmint coming for muh guns!"

We have an estimated 400,000,000 guns in this country, and like all humans are barely above animal status when it comes to emotions and motivations. Add in social media. If we DIDN'T have mass shootings that would be the surprise. I've ridden in cars with a couple people that built up so much road rage that I was very glad they didn't have a gun with them. We are nothing but chimps that are allowed to carry baseball bats with nails in them. Whatever, as someone who votes Democrat (until such time as the GOP becomes more sane, which I figure is "never"), any Democrat who want to make a change in anything should leave guns alone. We are hopelessly, pathetically addicted to our toy guns and that will not change. Hell I know lefties who wouldn't vote Democrat if they thought they'd lose their gun collection. We'll just continue to be the grand experiment for the rest of the world to watch and learn from.

I do feel the 2nd amendment is obsolete. It's intention was to protect plantation owners in a day of front-loading muskets. But it's there and boys gotta have their toys, it won't change.

Is that why there was 40 mass shooting during Obama's 8 years in office and there where 20 mass shooting In just the first 2 years of Trump's term?

So what should a President do then if they make such a difference?

I hate guns, I think our obsession with them is lunacy--but I also see trying to do anything resembling "gun control" will just cause you to lose elections. We have many other problems that can be tackled and I'd argue are more important.

But hey if politicians can manage to do it in the face of our collective idiocy and not get primaried, all good. I just think some fights can't be won but I'll be very happy to be wrong about it.
