Dinosaur-movie franchise Jurassic Park is set to take another bite out of the box office -- Hollywood bosses are planning to bring a second trilogy to the big screen.

The original 1993 film, starring Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum, was a massive success, grossing $914 million worldwide and spawning two sequels.

Now, nine years after Jurassic Park III hit theaters in 2001, movie bosses are planning to let the dinosaurs roam the earth once again.

And Joe Johnston, who directed the third installment, reveals a new movie will be closely followed by two more.

He tells BoxOffice.com, "There is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three -- it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way.

"If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy. We just want to make them justified in their own right. We don't want to make sequel after sequel just because there's a market for it. We want to tell different, interesting stories."

As if the 3rd one wasn't bad enough - they're making it worse? I heard about the 4th, and supposedly Crichton was on board and helping write it. Now that he's passed, nothing good can come out of this. :\
 
Ugh, more news of how unoriginal Hollywood is. I remember that summer JPIII came out I was working a summer job for an electrical contracting company and work started at 5 am every morning. Well of course I wanted to see JPIII and a buddy of mine wanted to go to the midnight showing so I went. I still remember how shitty I felt coming out of the movie and even more when I had to wake up at 4:30 the next morning. Horrible.
 
Hopefully we find out Raptors are highly intelligent, social, have genetic memory and are hell bent on revenge against warm-blooded creatures after the asteroid incident destroyed their technologically advanced society.

Laser-wielding raptors riding bionically enhanced t-rexes will be fun.
 
Number 3 sucked... I can barely remember number 2 so I'm going to assume that it sucked.
Number 1 was good.

I wonder if they'll pull a star wars on this and shoot it entirely in front of blue screen?
I'm sick of cgi everywhere.

#1 was amazing, but so damn pathetic they strayed from the book as much as they did. The movie was done to the point you couldn't really "tell" the dinosaurs and such were fake.
 
Jurassic Park 1 is my favorite movie of all time, for 10 years I wanted to be a paleontologist because of that, but that fell through when I learned that Jurassic Park wasn't real.

I really don't care if they make these, I will still go and watch them no matter what, but the series went so far down hill with 3 that I doubt these could be worse
 
Never even saw the first movie, so I don't really care too much. They should should just re-boot it and start over, particularly since Crichton is dead.
