when i 1st start F@H, all is fine.. once the GPU side turns in a WU, it causes the fan on my GPU to turn off.. which then.. any WU it tries to get fails.. untill i stop the gpu folding.. use GPU tweak to restart my fan.. then restart folding.. and all is fine.. till the WU fails... i have tried putting the gpu back to stock.. and not letting gpu tweak run.. same result.. what gives?? any one ??

1.) Could you refresh our memories on the hardware? If the card is Nvidia, what driver are you using, the newest ones broke functionality with Folding@Home.

2.) The log might be useful here. Could you go to the advanced control (if you are using web view), by right clicking the icon in the notification bar, then find the tab marked Log and give us a copy/paste?

3.) Another thought, (but let's look through the log first) is to download DDU (display driver uninstaller) and start with fresh drivers.

OK, well thats your problem. if you stay with those drivers, you will continue to have problems. Documented as a problem.

And why can't you play games on 373.06 ???

If running WCG on an i5-6400 on the CPU cores, and running F@H on the RX 460 4GB GPU, do we want to have F@H to use the lowest CPU priority possible, or does that retard the GPU usage, because the "feeder" process can't get enough CPU time from the 4 WCG threads?

Or should I set WCG to crunch on only 3 cores? Leaving one for F@H and the user?

Edit: I set WCG to only use 75% of the CPU cores, which, on a quad-core, should result in only 3 cores being used by WCG.

But FahCore_21.exe still only taking 2.1% CPU time, and each of three WCG tasks are now taking 30% CPU time.

I don't understand that. The only way than any one process should be able to take more than 25% CPU time on a quad-core, is if they are multi-threaded.

Are WCG tasks now multi-threaded / take multi-cores, instead of one thread per tasks (thus, running three tasks)?

This doesn't make sense.

Edit: It appears to be a reporting bug in Task Manager, possibly related to CPU clock speed. (I'm overclocked, from 100 BCLK to 150 BCLK.)

OCCT's monitoring shows 80% CPU usage, and temps are only 86C, when they were 93C with all four WCG tasks running.

So, it seems like WCG tasks are single-threaded, and running three of them only results in 80-ish % CPU usage, when you add in my other processes.

F@H for GPU needs at least 2 core to work correctly. You can use task manager after the changes, and if more than 25% is left available at all times, try and go up my one, but we have heard tha F@H like an even number of cores.
