Who needs Fox News when you've got CNN's Headline News?

In an interview this week with Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison, who was just elected as America's first-ever Muslim member of Congress, Headline News' Glenn Beck actually asked the following question:

"OK. No offense, and I know Muslims. I like Muslims. I've been to mosques. I really don't believe that Islam is a religion of evil. I -- you know, I think it's being hijacked, quite frankly. With that being said, you are a Democrat. You are saying, 'Let's cut and run.' And I have to tell you, I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.' And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way."

How can we have such idiocy in our larger media outlets?

He wants to ask the first Muslim elected to Congreess to prove he's not working with 'our enemies', and has the lack of self-control to say that to the Congressman-elect?

One-week moratorium on the right-wingers saying CNN is liberal.

Glenn Beck is a paranoid gasbag jackass that is on par with Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh. For awhile I listened to his show trying to get an idea of what the far-right had to say, and I finally concluded that there was nothing to find except paranoia and hate.

I hope we're coming to the end of the run with these fools.

Beck is up there with Hannity and the rest, I think he's just waiting on the right contract from Fox, his show is......quite terrible frankly.

Very nice! High five! <--- obligitory Borat reference

Seriously, I wonder if he was being even more of a ridiculous bastard than usual in order to drum up more ratings? I truly hope it backfires, I'm tired of ranting paranoid vicious loonies like Coulter, Beck, etc.

EDIT : Enjoy this, a classic ;)

I actually like him when he is doing mostly entertainment, but the last 6 months he has been going very political (more so than before). And lately it is nothing but the extreme Muslims are bringing on the End Times crap. I even tried giving his documentary a chance last night, but his style reminded me of Michael Moore's style. He would do a sound bite from a state official, too which you would have no idea on the context, voice over his opinion / take. Then throw in some footage or content from an extreme website, to which he claimed might not legit or that hadn't been verified, rinse, repeat. very poor journalism IMHO, and nothing but fear and hate mongering. Since he started on CNN my respect for him has gone to ZERO. Nothing but another religious whacko playing the conservatives for good ratings.

Glenn Beck is probably one of the few tv/radio hosts that actually speaks the TRUTH these days. I switched to CNN:HN just because he is THAT good.

Parts conveniently left out:

BECK: "May we have five minutes here where we're just politically incorrect and I play the cards up on the table."

ELLISON: "Go there."

My advice -- if don't want to see honest "politically incorrect" dialog between to consenting adults -- don't watch it.

More accurate: if you don't want to see Glenn Beck showing his true racist colors, and him claiming half the country is right along with him, while the Senator likely sits by simply inwardly shaking his head at the pathetic lunacy of these people, don't watch it.

CNN does not pay attention to Beck, he's just on there to give the appearance of the network being "fair and balanced", just like Colmes does for FOX News.

I think Jon Stewart said it best...finally, someone who says what people who aren't thinking are thinking.

It's still stupid and in poor taste that Beck thought that was a necessary and/or newsworthy thing to bring up in any context. The dialog wasn't "honest", it was stupid BS that for some reason was a topic of discussion among the less intelligent people in this country. I'm all for politically incorrect dialog when it has a purpose, but this was just the TV equivalent of flamebaiting.
