Another "I need a cheap AGP card" topic

I am looking for a cheap AGP card w/DVI that is under $50.00 that will work with a 250watt PS. I have been looking at the FX5200 but they are no faster than a MX440. I play very little games so I do not need a "modern" card. It seems all the low end cards are 64bit. I was looking at the Radeon 9550 or 9250. I would appreciate any suggestions.

find a 9800 pro used or something... they worked fine in my rig

9800 pro goes for much more than I want to spend. It also consumes more power than my 250watt PS can output.

I'm sure you can find a cheap, used Radeon 8500 in the FS/FT forum, or perhaps a Ti4200.

The Radeon 9550 performs near to the 9600XT and is a good card

9600 PRO is a good choice too. A few months ago I saw a PowerColor model going for around $50.

Also, in your price range, stay away from the nVidia FX5000 series. They are infamous for being sucky cards. Stick to ATI's 9000 series or nVidia's 6200 series.

I bought a few Radeon 7000s for work and the DVI worked fine, they were even cheaper at $33, so these nicer cards should work fine.

Here is a card at less than $60, with the most bang for the budget AGP buck that you can get (MSRP, about $100), with (I believe) the most current (for AGP) design that anyone sells in that interface. It's the more desireable, non-TC, 128 Bit memory version of the 6200:
