So I'm going through my junk in my basement and come across all these old atari manuals and boxes. I figured I'd throw them up on ebay, maybe make like $15 bucks. Some guy starts asking me all these questions today about what On-Line Systems (Sierra before they were Sierra) books I've got. So I tell him and then he offers $400 for the 5 books ALONE!

:Q

If I was a jerk, I'd just sell him those and not send them to the person that wins the actual auction. but I'm not, so I'll have to wait to see if i get even close to that amount.

Wow you are dumb. I would have sold those 5 books yesterday.

yeah... you always have the option to end the auction early... you would be a jerk if u refused to sell the item to the winner after the bidding has ended

edit: however, make sure the guy is reliable... check his feedback

Hmm... there's no negatives for ending early? His feedback is spotless, 207 positives.

Tell him to send a money order. If he does, end the auction early.

Agreed.

That sounds reasonable... but now that I'm thinking about it, this auction could get a lot higher than $400 if the demand is there for these.... hmmm i'll sleep on it.

make sure you do the transaction where you will be protected from any money retractions, if you sell the item outside of ebay, then you have very little, if any, seller protection.

Did you try doing a search on previous auctions to see if you can find any 'going rate' for the books?

Could be worth more than $400, maybe just let the auction run its course, tell him 'sorry, please make a bid if you want it.'

Yeah, that's it... It's only at $12 right now. which is why I'm seriously considering ending it early.

He wanted the ones that were from "On-Line Systems" (Sierra before they were Sierra). I consider myself quite versed in games, and have only heard of "The Wizard and the Princess", not any of the other 4. Whatever! He really wants me to end the auction.. .he emailed me twice overnight saying first "give me your address and end the auction".. Then "end the auction".
