RAINIER, Wash. -- A former teacher?s assistant accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy was indicted earlier this week, according to a Longview, Wash. newspaper.

Christine Marie Johanson as shown in a police mug shot.
The Daily News reported that Christine Marie Johanson, who worked at Hudson Park Elementary School, allegedly had a sexual relationship with a freshman at Rainier Junior/Senior High School. Further, the indictment also alleges that Johanson forced the boy to have sex with her.

She pleaded innocent Monday to 10 counts of third-degree rape, two counts of third-degree sodomy, 12 counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of furnishing liquor to a minor, according to The Daily News.

Seriously, do you think the 15-year-old boy was really getting raped 10 times? More like he was boning her. On the side note, WHERE THE HELL were these sex crazed teachers when I was in High School !?

Agree. For some stupid reason, the women aren't prosecuted as strongly as the men in these kinds of cases.

It's beyond double standard and is just plain stupid.

Indeed.

Male teacher on a female student = throw the book at the guy

Female teacher on a male student = we'll let it slide

Most cases teh kid at 15 knew what he was doing

Well, a lot of people have poor judgement. ;)

It's kind of like what I say about criminals - it's a good thing they're generally stupid. If criminals were really smart, they wouldn't get caught. Like if you want to be a serial killer, you can't do it for fame, or you're going to get caught, by leaving "calling cards." That's called "evidence". Do it for the knowledge that it's a job well done, and you'll stay out of prison. Even people like Ted Kaczynski - brilliant guy, who apparently crossed the thin line between brilliance and insanity and outright antisocial behavior. He was careless. He wrote papers, instead of typing them (no unique handwriting to provide evidence). He stayed in the same place. His bomb-making skills were good. His evasion techniques were nonexistent, thus he was caught.
So, luckily, most criminals are not smart.

It's definitely a double standard, although I'm guessing that when it comes to older men and younger females, the courts also likely assume many times that there was some type of physical coercion--or the threat of as much--used as a means to obtain the sexual ends.

Whereas most 15-year-old boys are likely able to physically fend off most older women.
