I had a surgery to repair a developing umbilical hernia about 2 months ago. A month ago I went for the follow up appointment with the surgeon that did the procedure on me, and he said that any kind of "tenderness" is natural, that I was recovering rapidly, and that there wasn't any need to have anymore follow ups.
Fast forward to last night, when I was feeling around my belly button area (for no particular reason), I felt pain (like a 4 out of 10) on the right side of my belly button. Similar pain to what I was feeling before the surgery, although that time it was pain above my belly button. However, I don't feel pain when I lift or do any physical activities, just when I push down really hard on that area.Plus there is the similar odor coming from my belly button like before the surgery.
Is this another umbilical hernia developing? Or am I still recovering from my surgery and feeling tenderness in the general umbilical area?
EDIT: Keep in mind that I only started exercising after the green light from my doctor about a month ago. Even then it's been light stuff, i.e.: walking, stairmasters, some basketball, light lifting.
