Have been using more then 1gig of ram recently and think it may be time to add another gig. Cant Find the ocz 3700eb anymore and I know it has been surpassed so any suggestions on what to get for the second gig (good timings, compatible with the 3700 and hopefully still around (to buy another gig) by summer/fall when I go pci express (and dual core hopefully) as at that point I will leave the 3700eb in my current system.

Instead of buying another gig, how about you go burn your money....or bury it somewhere, or give it to a bird to build its nest, that would all be better than you getting another gig of ram

I realize 2gigs may sound somewhat crazy, but when I am working I often get more then 1gig used (generaly in the 1.1-1.2gig area though sometimes higher), so while I could get away with another 512 I dont see the purpose of buying 2 256meg sticks.

timings don't really matter that much with the integrated controller that comes with the A64 system, at least that's what I hear.

what programs are you using that it utilizes more than a gig? I would just get some memory that will do 250FSB and call it a day.

its not realy one program so much as a bunch (mostly dealing with scientiific programming and modeteratly large scale datasets)
