another g6 question

I'm trying to setup my ftp site using g6, and I can't find anyplace where it lets you enter in the IP. I am the only client on a home LAN, so my winipcfg comes up as an internal (192.168...). My External IP is static, and I want to tell g6 to use that. I've already set up a directory tree, with users and rights, but whenever I click on the little lightning bolt to bring the server online, it gives the internal IP. I can't very well give users outside my LAN this internal IP. What can I do? Give users the external IP, and g6 will automatically pick them up, even though I'm a clientPC? I can change the port to something different, will that help? Does this make sense at all?

Thanks

Marc

Won't it work to give them your static IP...??? I don't use g6, but as long as it listens to port 21, all should be OK.

PM me with the info and I'll try it.

I'll PM you. Does it have to be on port 21? 5000 should work, right? Also, is PASV mode something that's done only on the side that's trying to connect to me, or do I set PASV mode on the server too? If so, where in g6 do you set it?

You have to open port 21 on your internal address and enter in a multiple IP and use your Staic external IP. Clinents logging on have to have PASV off. PM me if you need more help.
