They're called christmas cakes. You see, all bakeries put out their best, most exquisite pastries until the 25th of december. On the 26th, you can get them heavily discounted or even free.

Thus, single women 26 and up are called "christmas cakes"

My Japanese professor told the class that in Japan, women over 25 are called 'christmas cake' also because after age 25, it's harder for them to get married. It's like nobody wanting to buy anything after Christmas day. How the cake plays into it, I forget.

What is the divorce rate in Japan? I'm curious as to the current trends in this area.

Not sure. I havne't kept up with Japanese culture in a while. I'm thinking that being such a conservative culture, it probably wouldn't be that high, but witht he influence of Western culture, it COULD be on the rise (although may not be a steep rise). But then again, that's just ME thinking out loud. :)

Im not even thinking about marriage, although I'm only 19, sometimes women just suck and aren't worth the annoyance.

Half the guys here can't get to hold a breathing female's hand much less anything else. Don't worry, you're not alone...here.

Excuse me! I hold a breathing female's hand, more than one at that, every night. Granted, they're in a coma and I'm checking their vitals...but still.

Were you in "Kill Bill"by chance?:p

Stop worrying about when it will happen, but worry about what will happen when you find a girl you like.

She's 20, but graduating college before you. You're 22. She's then going to NYC for graduate school, 2 years away from you. She also doesn't want to get married until she's practically 30. She doesn't want to have sex until she's married. Oh, by the way, she doesn't want to change her last name either, and she faints on the sight of a prenup.

But you like everything else about her.

That's when you think.. sh!t.
