ok i have a old p4 2.4 in a sony viao i have dont no upgrades becuase i have barly anybility too. Im using inegrated grafics to play CS URT and D2 and HL...i need a better sys.

Background of what i want to do: I would like to start video editing and mayb some games like the ones stated above. I have really no idea waht to get. I basicly want lots of rrom for expantion and for the time being get a good sys started for under $1000. i will be keeping my existing HDD both CD drive and floppy. everything else im going to sell on ebay to help pay for my new comp. I will be slowly adding more as money is avlaible.

I was thinking that i want A8N-SLI(lots of room for upgrading) i dont knoe wut vid card to get. i will get a enermax nosiemaker 480w PSI and a aspire case. i was think to get a 3200 CPU i dont knoe if im going to do much OCing but i have the room if i want to. I want at least 1bg of ram. and i dont know what else.

help, thought, opinons, would be greatly apreciated.
 
Perhaps you could edit you original post and ask specific questions. Your post is kinda rambling and without a direction. Do you need help choosing a motherboard, AMD vs. Intel, case, power supply????

Requirements i want.
I want LOTS of room for expantion.
I will be buying only Mobo, CPU, GPU, PSU, Case, Memory, XP home.( i am keeping HDD DVD and CD drives.)
buget is $1000-1200(want to stay closer to $1000)
I dont intend to OC

Also What video editing softwear does everyone use??

anyone have criques about this setup?? will this be good for Gaming and video editing?
