The funniest thing is the engine in that sucker is worth more than they're selling the whole boat for...not to mention the scrap steel...They did they before, sold a bouy tender for $45,000, someone bought it and sold it piecemeal for at least a couple hundred thousand.

I don't think the previous one was sold through Ebay.

Another trick the gov pulls is donating ships to other countries. That way, the gov doesn't have to clean up the ships (with them being so old, they're full of LBP's, all kinds of hazmats illegal today).

Is this legit? Look at the seller's feedback and the other auctions posted. Flashlights, Crayons, Bungi Watches, Coast Guard Cutter...????

I know where that thing is!!! It's under admiralty arrest, that's why they are selling it. Some guys didn't pay their dock fee bills and then sold it and ran with the money. You guys would be surprised how many old working boats are bought up like this. There a former british navy patrol vessel where i work that some millionaire is using as his personal yacht. Now that is a yacht!!! too bad they don't have the guns mounted on the turrets anymore....

edit: you can see "my" dock in the picture with domino sugar in the background. It's right below the masts

On the bottom of the page it states:

Terms of Sale

"As Is"

I'd want a little more reassurance that when I purchase a coast guard cutter it will stay afloat.

Can I put it up on cinderblocks in my backyard to part it out?
