Just curious. Is this game sufficiently different from Dungeon Keeper (and honestly I hope it isn't) to avoid getting into trouble with EA, who I believe still owns the IP? Or has some legal arrangement been made?
We have spoken to someone there and they are aware of it. We are hoping to talk more in the future.

Legally speaking though, we are not infringing on any original names, characters, or brands that they created, so they wouldn't have any real leg to stand on.

Also guys, please keep in mind how early this demo is. It's actually based on a revision from a few months ago (just using newer assets) as we are in the process of creating an entirely new, infinitely flexible map system (with working pathfinding!).

So its an alpha or a pre-alpha demo? /chuckle

In reality it's a 3-month old revision of the game (about 150 revisions behind what we have right now) with new assets added to it - we mainly just wanted to show something to the people that have been following us.

Our lead programmer goes into a bit more detail about it here.

I just realized this game is on Kickstarter! Totally missed it before. I've stopped throwing money at KS projects after backing a couple games. Prefer to wait and see what/if/when they come out, but this one I'm almost tempted to give them some money!

A demo is available, which at least is way better than the "we have a game idea" pitches we see a lot of... Anyone try it?

As of now it's 6 days to go, and GBP 5,000 short.

Simburgur mentioned gearing up for a KS. I'm guessing he's pretty busy and/or forgot to post in here when it went live.

edit: They've already met their $150K funding goal with 6 days to go.
