Yeah, I too had a Radeon 9800 pro card back then. The game looked superb!

Just reinstalled D3 on my upgraded system, and it runs a nice and smooth 60 fps on my 7900 gto at ultra quality, 4xaa.

I remember trying to play the development demo on lowest settings back in late '02 on my 1.3 ghz p4 and 32mb GF2 GTS. It lasted a few minutes, one of the hell-knights came at me with my shotgun in hand, and my computer crashed mid-blast.

Doom3 alpha? man all hell broke loose when those leaked out to da interweb.

Doom3 had the potential to be a fun game. I think for the most part, technology at that time limited alot of cool ideas and concepts materializing in the final game. Such as reflective/mirror like surfaces to scout an area, and i.e evade demons or ambush them.
